The preschool that Inwe attends will be closing after this summer. I just got the letter today. The reason stated for the closing is that state regulations require them to completely upgrade the play area. None of the parents have any problems with the play area. But, with the state, this does not matter. This closing is such a shame. It is a wonderful school, with loving teachers, and a great atmosphere. It is on the ground floor of a residentinal home and does not feel institutional. I suspect this is the reason that the owners are finding it difficult to comply with state regulations.
However, this does make the decision of where Larien will be attending preschool easier. She'll go to Charlottesville Day School with Inwe.

Long ago we consider opening a day care in the home but the regulations made it impractical.
