While Finwe and Larien were still napping, Inwe and I got a chance to prepare her Valentine gifts for her classmates. Phill took her shopping on Saturday to buy the treats. They chose Madagascar treat bags. To fill the bags they bought Hershey's Kisses and a mixed bag of candy.I had already put the names of her classmates on each bag. When Inwe joined me, she wrote her name with a pink marker on each bag and then filled them with the candies.
The only part of filling the bags that I had a hand in was getting two purple and two red wrapped Kisses for each bag. Inwe chose the other types of candy based on to whom the bag was addressed. Inwardly, I was smiling remembering the careful selection of the pre-printed Valentine cards for my classmates when I was in elementary school. Do you remember? Did you save the nicest one for your best friend? Did you find the bland ones to give to the girls and boys that you didn't really like, but you knew you couldn't be outright rude? At what age did you start finding a special message to give to a special boy?
Inwe chose two of her classmates to receive more candy than the others. Both were boys! I didn't say anything. I just watched. She was quite deliberate about it. Oh, it starts too early. Too early.
