I've made a couple of reference to the terrible movie that the girls have been watching. That movie is Thomas and the Magic Railroad, starring Alec Baldwin and Peter Fonda. The voie is badly acted and completely fragmented. The first time I watched it with the girls I thought, "Oh, they won't watch this for long. At least it was on sale for $9."
The plot is all so over the place that I can't even sum it up easily. The scenes with the trains are nice, much like the television episodes. I know Larien likes those parts. The train scenes are interspersed with the live action scenes. I can only say that the live action is quite bad. I cannot believe that Alec Baldwin, the man who played Jack Ryan so well in The Hunt for Red October, agreed to do this movie.
My initial assessment that this movie would soon sit on the shelf was completely incorrect. Larien asks to watch it twice a day. Inwe has watched it multiple times as well. I inwardly groan when the girls ask for it. Phill, however, will stop what he is doing and watch it. I think he'll watch anything. Watch out, Trixie. WaWa will be one of those dads. I can see him watching all the dorky kid movies with your little one.
