If you are going to have a dog
Have one that is good to your children. The dog should also deal with dressing, relatively rough patting, and covering with blankets. See example below. Larien decided that White Dragon needed to be wrapped up in Larien's blanket. So, she covered her up completely. White Dragon did not move. The only time she did move was when I called her name so I could get a picture.

So true. Mama dog will take much abuse as well. She didn't snip once at the kids this weekend and actually seemed to enjoy their company. She slept on the coat of her favorite child (the one who is most frightened of her) and then cuddled up in bed with another child who was THRILLED to have her there. Funny how Mama loves the child who is the most frightened. I think it has to do with her feeding Mama chicken when no one was looking and since then, Mama follows her around like a shadow.
Oh White Dragon is such a good dog! My sister has a dog that is not good at all. He snaps at her son. Luckily the dog is a teensy 4 pound thing and can't do much damage...at least I hope.
The white dragon is really kind to Larien. My dog Divot would run away from her. I have learned that Divot is not fond of children and does not like strange people touching him. Ursa appears to be a loving dog.
