Photos from Christmas

Our Christmas day was good. I'll call it relatively quiet and quaint. It was more about the five of us spending time together than anything else. The girls got presents that they liked, and Phill and I got some time to play with the girls and snuggle with Finwe.

Both girls got things to ride on: Inwe a bike and Larien a tricycle. The bad news was that it was raining outside. This, however, did not stop Inwe from riding from the sunroom to the living room and back. She like to say that she was "in training, because I have training wheels." Larien caught on late last night that she could ride as well, so we added a tricycle to the traffic of two dogs back and forth in the house. That was quite entertaining as the delight and sense of accomplishment of the girls was very satisfying.

On the top of the list of toy presents was: a Thomas the Tank Engine wooden track set; a Play-Doh table with lots of dough and toys to smush it, cut it, roll it; butterfly wings to wear; a plush black dog that Inwe has dressed up already; a puzzle with a bus that goes around on a track; a horse and carriage for Prince Charming along with Prince Charming; a film camera for Inwe.

The girls also got a set of train cookie cutters, so we made cookies with these. Their goal is to eat the entire train, meaning engine, coal tender, passenger car, tank car, and the caboose. If only trains had cabooses anymore. The girls know what a caboose looks like, but they have never seen a real one on a train. I remember being so excited when I would see a caboose when a train passed by. It was something worth waiting at the track crossing. Like a period on the end of a sentence. Now trains just end. To me, there is something missing. Apologies for the digression.

Enjoy the photos. (Well, I can't the the photos uploaded, so look for them sometime soon.)
