There's a few inches of ice outside on top of the snow that didn't melt. The girls are in their night gowns playing grocery store. The White Dragon has decided that the coiled up hose is a play toy, and it's too cold and slippery for me to drag it into the garage. Finwe is slung on me in the carrier.
What are we listening to? Why, Elvis. Some parents may get their kids on a Beatles kick or even the Grateful Dead, but here I play Elvis on mornings like this. Specifically, we are listening to 2nd to None, a complilation of more of Elvis' number one hits.
Inwe asked me if Elvis lived in Virginia. I told her his life was all done. "You mean he's dead? How can we hear him then?" What followed was a discussion recording techniques. Due to our digital age, Inwe understood. "Lilo and Stitch think Elvis is still alive. They talk about him in the movie."
After a few minutes she asked, "I'm sure he is buried somewhere. Do you know where?" So, I found the Graceland website and showed her the house and his grave on the grounds. "People still love him." "How do you know that?" I asked. "There are flowers on his grave," she said matter of factly. I suspect Phill has been talking to her about graves due to the cemetary that we pass on the way home.
