Touch Up

Teeth brushing with little ones is always an adventure. First, it is funny to the little one, so she lets you brush her teeth as she giggles.

Next, the little girl hits the "I wanna do it" stage, and you, the parent, know that the teeth are not clean. Our solution was to yell "touch up" and brush her teeth in a funny, but effective way.

Inwe hit a stage where she didn't want to do it at all, so we then resorted to holding her down, which we called "the hard way". She soon learned to choose "the easy way", which was to open her mouth letting us brush her teeth. (Larien isn't out of the "I wanna do it" phase.)

Now that Inwe is older and does a good job of brushing her teeth, she now asks us to do the touch up part.

Tonight, Phill and I had to leave the girls during the teeth brushing to take care of something downstairs. When we got back up to the girls, we heard Inwe say, "Touch up." Except she wasn't asking us to touch up her teeth brushing, she was doing the touch up for Larien.
