Swim Lessons

I signed Larien up for more swim lessons. We will be doing another four lessons on Tuesday mornings. We'll miss one as we go on vacation, but that's okay. She likes the lessons because she gets time with me alone, and she now enjoys the water itself quite a lot.

Let's look at her progress.

Four weeks ago she wouldn't:

• Let go of my neck.
• Blow bubbles in the water.
• "swim" with her arms
• put her ears in the water

Today she would:

• Let the instructor take her from me.
• Put her entire face in the water.
• Try to swim to the edge or steps of the pool.
• Put both her ears in the water.
• Hold onto a swim noodle while I held the swim noodle.

The progress is really amazing. Today there was a dad with his daughter in the class. She wouldn't let go of his neck at all. The instructor pointed to Larien, who was then paddling with her arms and kicking with her legs as I held her around the waist, telling the dad that Larien once was like that. If she still likes it at the end of this month, I'll sign her up for April.
