Yesterday Larien chose not to take a nap. Instead, she stayed outside with Phill and I helping to dig and plant and spread mulch. She got to spray water in the holes for the roses and the other plants. She got valuable one on one time with no siblings around. She revelled in it. She thrived.
Because she was so dirty I got the kids bathed before dinner (which was pizza. Yes, on Mother's Day I got pizza. Such a treat for me. We don't do pizza much.). Larien ate at least two adult sized slices as she watched Thomas the Tank Engine stories while covered up by her blanket in her favorite chair. I started cleaning up the kitchen while Phill and Inwe were talking in the sunroom. When I went to get Larien's plate, I discovered that she was sound asleep. The time 6:55pm.
Today, she also decided to not nap. Finwe had a rough day as his tummy wasn't feeling well, so having her awake really didn't bother me. Finwe had a distraction as he now likes Larien.
Tonight, she was so tired at dinner that she couldn't eat. While I felt terrible doing it, I put her in the bed with her clothes on at 7:15pm. She's going to either wake up in the wee morning hours really hungry or she'll be super cranky in the morning because of hunger.
How long do you think it will take before she realizes that a nap is a good thing?
On the other hand, Inwe had a blast this evening helping Phill complete the new flower garden as both Larien and Finwe were tucked into bed quite early. She was loving the special attention.
