Being all flustered from a new gardening plan, trying to get lunch in the kids, and the overdosed dog incident, we were late to arrive for the dance recital--all of us.Inwe and I left separately so that if one parent needed to leave with one of the kids in the audience we could. Amazingly, no one, not even the strict dance teacher, was worried about us arriving late. The teacher was extremely excited that we remembered the bear for the dance. I gave Inwe a kiss and went to find Phill who was bringing Larien and Finwe.
Two problems with the timing of the recital--it's right during nap time!!! and it's right during nap time!!!! Okay, that's just one problem, but with two kids who need a nap it's a double problem.
Phill called me saying that he had the roses for Inwe and that he wouldn't get to the theater on time. I said I would look for him and for him to call me when he arrived. Too bad my cell phone battery died. We eventually found each other in the dark theater--two dances before Inwe performed. We all got to see the Teddy Bear Ballet. No one cried. All of them attempted to do the dance. Inwe looked good. We watched the whole first half (or is it first act?). There were a few interesting dances. I'm still not impressed with the choreography.
I met Inwe outside of the dressing rooms--really just a long hallway of the high school where the theater is located. She was bouncy, happy, and asked to watch the other girls dance. I had to tell her that we might get to, but that Finwe and Larien were at their wits end. Outside of the theater Larien presented Inwe with her roses. "Oh, this is because I did so well. Thank you all. These are lovely." (That's verbatim, folks.)
Phill agreed to stay with Inwe so she could watch the second act. I took the tired babies home--only one slept. Larien and I did some more gardening while Finwe finished his nap in the car. Thank goodness it's not hot.
Inwe says that one day she might like to do tap, but that she wants to try cheerleading and tennis. I'm glad. And, I would like to officially thank both my parents for putting up with many, many years of dance classes. I really don't know how you did it. I love you. You are good parents.

Inwe is beautiful and very tallented - must get that from you.
I'm impressed that she understands a compliment ( the flowers) and expresses her thoughts precicely and clearly - that probably also comes from you - as I remember you have never been at a loss to express what you are thinking.
When it comes to dance teachers, you and your sister were in some very entertaining dance shows, good teracers and at least two good dancers.
