The heat-seeking missile that is Inwe's dance teacher found me in a theater of parents to ask if I could get home to retrieve the missing bear. Yeah right was my reply.
Inwe's dance is the 11th in the first act. Larien quickly got happy realizing she was going to get to watch people dance. Finwe loved the music and made little yelps of happiness. (A baby's voice really carries.) Breaking a no food and drink rule, Larien and Finwe munched as they watched the first ten dances. Not a one of them was interesting or good. I didn't see an ounce of talent. The really tiny girls are cute at least.
Inwe's moment on the stage did not bother her. She did the dance eventhough her friend Hayley cried the entire time. I really think Inwe was just happy to wear lipstick, real lipstick, Mommy's lipstick. Very cool for a four year old. She was also really
excited that I was in the audience watching. I think she'll do just fine tomorrow.I'm glad that we are not continuing the dance lessons. This studio has too many teachers and no cohesion for the recital. When I was younger I took dance lessons and participated in a recital each year. The first few years there were two teachers who choreographed or borrowed an already choreographed ballet for the first half of the recital. The second half was all jazz and tap. A few years down the road (I think I was 13 or so), two more teachers joined the school. These two had been in a professional dance company and were all pizazz. The recitals were a mix of ballet, tap, modern, and jazz in any order. There was always a theme. One that I remember was a city theme. Each dance had something to do with a city. One of my dances was us being bums or the homeless (really), the second one that year was a tap dance pretending to be secretaries typing, the last one was a dance symbolizing the churches in the area.
None of the dances from Inwe's school made much sense at all. None of the matched, and none of them were impressive. I'm done with this school. If Larien wants to do ballet I'll find somewhere else.

Yeah, my dance school was sooo much better than that...my mom did all the costuming (she sewed for 100s of girls) and the themes rocked. *sigh* Good luck with that! Your daughter looks so lovely and her eyes just jump out at you. You are in for trouble when she gets older.
She looks beautiful! Thanks for posting the picture...It is the same dress that Rosie is wearing for her recital!
