Swim Lessons Day Three

I didn't even try to get Larien to take her class in the water. Call me lazy, but I'm not going to force my 21 month old to play in the water when she clearly doesn't desire it. Yesterday when I wouldn't listen to her pleas of "Get me out" she twisted around to where my babysitter was sitting with Inwe and said, "T, get me out!" There is a good part to the swim day that I'll get to later.

Inwe did great in her class. She's a really good floater. She kicks pretty well and has no problems blowing bubbles at all. The next step is putting her whole face in the water. I told her if she did that I would buy her some swim goggles. She didn't quite get there today, but she'll do it soon. The instructor has the girls (the one boy has wimped out) jump into the pool as she catches them. Inwe got a bit overzealous about jumping and went all the way under the water. The instructor pulled her up quickly, and Inwe wasn't fazed much. When Larien saw Inwe jumping into the water, she had to do it. The instructor held out her hands and said, "Jump, Larien." My little one took a leap. She did that two more times and was done with the water. "Time for towel, Mommy."

Tomorrow is our last day of class this week. I'll sign Inwe up for more lessons. I'll just keep playing with Larien in the water. Organized classes aren't for her just yet.
