First Day of Swim Lessons

Both Inwe and Larien had swim lessons today. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate. The temperature was 67 F when Inwe met her teacher. She and three other children, one boy the others girls, toughed it out for 30 mintues. She made bubbles in the water; "I do this in the bathtub," she proudly told her teacher. They kicked on their backs, on their fronts, floated with their heads back, and practiced jumping into the pool. She did enjoy it, but instantly asked for a towel when she got out!

Larien didn't enjoy her lesson that much. I was holding her the entire time as this is a "get to know the water" class and not about swimming. We started out with some cute games that made her smile, but as soon as we tried to show her how to grab onto the wall, she rebelled. "No, Mama. Cold water. No. No No NO NO." So after six minutes, we left the water. The other babies, a one year old and another nearly two year old, lasted another three minutes. Tomorrow should be warmer. I do hope it is. I didn't enjoy the cold temperatures either!
