The Maverick Visit--A success or not?

How do Phill and I rate the visit--a wonderful success for many reasons:

• We got to see Revenge of the Sith with Maverick and have a great discussion afterwards.
• Inwe and Larien love Aunt Maverick and spent lots of time with her, so we would take the time to sit in peace and quiet (with two very verbal children, we don't get much of that at this house).
• I got time to really cook, which means I did seafood, and we had strawberry shortcake each night. Lovely, yummy strawberries straight out of the garden.

How do Inwe and Larien rate the visit--A success. Do I really need to list their reasons? Well, let me try:

• Inwe got to sleep with Aunt Maverick for naps and nighttime.
• Larien got to be picked up more than we pick her up. Perhaps the sweetest moment was when Larien fell down. I picked her up, but she reached out her arms to Aunt Maverick saying, "Aunt Maverick, hold me." What a moment.
• Inwe and Larien took her all over the yard and even got her to take them on a walk down the street (Inwe on a new scooter complete with princess bike helmet).
• I could list more, but it would get too long and you really don't want to read it all.

As for Aunt Maverick? How would she rate it? I think she would say it was a good time. There are some bits of the three days that weren't perfect.

• I'm not sure she got enough sleep. Inwe fell off the bed one night. After that, Maverick didn't sleep much for paying attention to Inwe's position.
• The White Dragon decided that a pair of lime green kitten heels tasted good and destroyed them.
• No Monticello for the fourth or fifth visit. We had planned on going on Sunday, but Inwe was having none of that. One day, Maverick, you too can join the multitudes who have visited the home of Mr. Thomas Jefferson. You can hear how he died on July 4th thinking that John Adams was still alive. You can see the books, a mere fraction of what he owned in his day. Ah, you will enjoy it. One day. This I promise.

And, if you think of visiting here, know this before you cross the threshold. If my daughters like you, we, the parents, will disappear at times leaving you with Inwe and Larien. Beware.
