It's time for a small celebration. The nursery is clean. There are clothes of the appropriate colors in the dwarers. I found 15 pairs of suitable socks. There are size one diapers in the closet thanks to my neighbor (mom of a baby boy born in March).
Do we have a name chosen? No. Did I receive a list of 65 names that my grandmother likes? Yes. Do we like some of the same names? Yes. What are we calling the unnamed baby boy? Phill and I now have a rotation of names that we call him. It's usually three names at a time such as Tom Gowron Banning or Garrett Kirk Worf. (Please believe me that Gowron or Worf are not names that I would seriously name my child. This is just a game that Phill and I play.)
Last night Inwe informed Mom Mom that her baby brother is naked now and doesn't need clothes until he comes out of mommy's tummy. I promise that I have never said anything like this to my daughter and I quizzed Phill as to what he has told her. He also says he has never said anything like that to Inwe either. I'm not sure how Inwe knows that babies are born naked, but she does. She's intelligent. She's logical (although sometimes her kid logic is dizzying, but I can follow it!). She's a good big sister most of the time.
Pop Pop again tried to elicit information from Inwe last night. She told him, "You need to be patient, Pop Pop." As she was saying this to him, I whispered "He needs to stop pestering you." So, her next sentence was, "Pop Pop, stop pestering me about his name."
Larien took her milk this morning, poured it into a play teapot (given by Mississippi Great Aunt), and said, "I'm drinking me coffee. Want some?"

Good for you for getting that chore done. I know you feel better.
No surprise what Megan told Mom-Mom - she is one smart cookie. And I'm sure that she would tell me that she isn't a cookie she is a princess. Anyway, you get my point.
Drinking coffee with Mom Mom is forever imprinted in Audrey's brain. She may never remember why she "likes to drink coffee" but we will. Just brings a smile to my face.
I like the name Garrett Tom Gordon. Good strong name. Please do not burden a child with the name Worf - he will forever believe that his parent's are freaks for doing that!
