Pre-Ballet Class-Warning! A bit of a rant.

Today I was lucky enough to have Phill come home early so that I could take just Inwe to her dance lesson. Larien stayed behind with Daddy. She didn't like it at all, but when I take Larien I cannot watch Inwe in dance class. So, Larien had to tough it out, and it sounds like Daddy did okay and I am forgiven.

There are six girls, all age 3-4 in this class. Most of the parents stay outside the studio and look through the window for the 45 minutes of the class. A few weeks ago, one of the girls was removed from the class by her Mom for misbehaving and not paying attention. Last week I talked to this mom as we were waiting upstairs for the class to finish. She was embarrassed that her child had to be removed kicking and screaming, and I told her that I applauded her effort. This litte girl had behaved really well the next two lessons.

Well, today this same girl (watched by her father this time) was again being a nuisance and he took her out of the class kicking, crying and screaming. As a mom, I felt bad for the little girl, but I wanted to hug the dad for being a stickler for his rules. Four of the six girls were listening and attempting to do what the teacher asked. I say attempting because the Blonde Nuisance had an accomplice, Brunette Nuisance, who either got in the way of the four listeners or outright distracted the teacher so much that she couldn't teach the pre-ballet. The mom of Brunette Nuisance was watching as well, but did she take her misbehaving, never did a thing the teacher asked, wouldn't stop talking and getting in the others way out of the class? NO! I wanted to grab the woman's arm and say, "Go get your daughter out of that class right now!" However, I held my tongue and continued to watch my sweet Inwe listen to the teacher and stare in disbelief as the Brunette Nuisance made her various disturbances.

"That girl didn't listen at all, Mommy. I don't want to be like her. Didn't I do a good job?" I'm still a bit annoyed at the second mom. I am quite happy with my little listener.
