This morning Phill fulfilled a promise to Inwe to take her shopping with the coins she has gathered and pilfered for the past few weeks. She had $2.83 to spend at the Halloween store, which we have now learned is CVS. She bought one of those plastic jack-o-laterns made for carrying the candy for trick or treating and a huge bag of candy corn. She and Larien have eaten at least a third of the bag already.
Larien had two dollars to spend, thanks to Auntie J and Uncle L who sent her that for her birthday. She spent her money at Target, buying a small plush chicken and a small plush cow from the dollar bins. Apparently the dollar bins were featuring a sale, so the toys totaled just $1.42. When the cashier gave her the change back she said, "She gave me more money!" We'll have to work on the concept of change.
The three of them were gone at least two hours--well into lunch time. I kept wondering where they were. Not that I was bored with Finwe. He was being good, and I got plenty done without Phill and the girls home. When Inwe arrived home, she immediately asked me to open her candy corn. Larien tossed her bag to me and said, "I have a chicken and a cow." Phill said, "We went to lunch at TGIFridays. They had sundaes, and I had chicken wings. They were so good that I will do that again."
